I thought it was relevant to post about Dulwich because their current situation is the result of many years of local authorities, politicians, property developers and shiester owners with an eye on the prize - accidently on purpose mismanaging the thing for their own long-term financial gain.

From East Dulwich/Old Camberwell borders originally, grandad was mad about football playing and watching used to play CB into his 40s and was a Charlton fan, remember him telling me he used to also watch his local team Dulwich Hamlet down dog kennel hill (sounds right up Soldo's street) with his best mate who was Millwall who's favourite player was Harry Cripps. They both tried to get my brother and I down there in the 70s watching all three, but we never did once. Told them to come down the Boleyn for a proper atmosphere with us but they never did either. Great club with great long history is Dulwich Hamlet.

The Tooting ground was built by lottery money as part of the 2012 Olympic bid, it was to built to show the Olympic committee how quickly a venue could be constructed.

Good to read that, Eusebovic. May pop down T&M and have a look. Used to live in Brixton and Herne Hill a few years back, great times, and hope DH can dig in and keep going.

It's confirmed...Groundshare with Tooting & Mitcham until end of the season.
The thing about Dulwich is that on the surface it just appears to be about hipsters, craft beer and middle class residents that the area is associated with - they are more than welcome and I'm not going to cunt them off because their money gives the club a viable financial future.
The only reason that the club still exist at all is down to the residents of the what were until recently the less fashionable areas around Dulwich - like me, the ones on the housing estates where I grew up - who adopted the and almost ironically used it as a vehicle for social engagement to get the people into doing something positive rather than negative for their local area...
So salute Brixton, Camberwell, Honor Oak, New Cross, Nunhead, Peckham, Tulse Hill, Walworth, West Norwood and many others in South London...they kept it going when nobody else cared
Scratch the surface...it's far more interesting than most would appreciate or realize...

Hope they can get the ground sorted. Rio made a £10 million offer to buy the land I read. May be playing near me at Tooting and Mitcham in the interim.
